Safran Landing Systems is the world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems. Gloucester is home to the UK division and is at the forefront of contributing to safer, more sustainable aviation for current and future generations. In Gloucester, we manage the full life-cycle capability from concept to in-service support from two sites (featured below). Across our sites we regularly hire for roles in engineering, production, supply chain, customer support and support services. We are particularly looking for skills in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, safety & reliability, performance & dynamics, systems, test, and model-based systems engineering. In Production, we are looking for skills in machining, inspection, assembly, special processing, manufacturing engineering, supply chain management and planning. We also offer level 3 and level 6 (Degree) apprenticeships and graduate opportunities.

Safran Landing Systems (OEM), Gloucester Landing gear and systems integration The Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) site in the South West of England has been at the forefront of landing gear technology for over 85 years. We have extensive experience and capability built over 16,000 aircraft. We employ approximately 800 people and our customers are air framers such as Airbus and Boeing. We design, test, manufacture and assemble landing gear and provide support for commercial aircraft including Airbus A318, A319, A320, A321, A330, A340 and A350 and UK military aircraft, such as the Eurofighter Typhoon. We are engaged in securing new civil and military business opportunities, as well as promoting the future of the UK aerospace industry through our engagement with government and industry forums.


Safran Landing Systems Services (MRO), Gloucester Maintenance repair and overhaul Specialising in Single Aisle products (A320, B737NG) our Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation support a range of customers globally and work predominantly with major airlines including British Airways, easyJet, Wizz Air, Iberia, Vueling, Air Canada, Etihad and Qatar. Overhaul activity is necessary every 10 years or 20,000 landings and gears are removed from the aircraft, fully disassembled, inspected and repaired prior to reassembly and test. Over 220 employees and apprentices support the overhaul of more than 350 legs per year and additional capabilities include dedicated hydraulics, electrical, test and investigation teams. A dedicated team of engineers also support customers’ on-wing when issues emerge in service. Our MRO also support Tornado and EFA military programmes
