About Us

For the past 40 years, St Catherine’s Hospice has been providing expert end of life care to people in Sussex and East Surrey, offering both physical, emotional and spiritual support to those living with a terminal illness, and their families.
From caring for people at home, in our Living Well Centre, on our wards, and in care homes, our expert teams are on hand to support those facing death and loss.

We are incredibly proud of our talented team, and the care that we deliver on a daily basis, in fact, the Care Quality Commission has rated our care as ‘Outstanding.’ We are currently based in Crawley, West Sussex in late'23 we will be moving to our brand new Hospice at Pease Pottage.

What it’s like to work for us?

When you join St Catherine’s, you’ll be joining a supportive team all working towards the same ambition: to help everyone face death informed, supported and pain free.

Our people are what makes St Catherine’s special. It’s our people who those we care for fondly remember, who cheer on supporters at events and chat to them in our shops, and who work together to provide outstanding services to everyone we care for.

We aspire to reflect the communities that we serve, and we welcome applications from people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences. Some of our colleagues share what it is like to work across at the hospice.

Shelley, Ward Manager:
“We pride ourselves on giving individualised care. Our care is often about the little things but it’s those things that people remember. We’ve enabled people to have weddings and birthday parties here. If I and my team can create special memories for people and their relatives, it’s a privilege to do that.”

Dawn, Redhill Shop Manager:
“This has been the best job I’ve ever had - I wish I’d found it earlier. Everything we all do is going towards those we care for. If we can make people smile in their last days, then that’s just lovely.”

Wayne, Head of Site Services
“We’re a team who do our best to help with whatever a person needs – that’s really important to us. One man we were caring for wanted to surprise his wife with a candlelit dinner under the stars, so we set up dinner for them to enjoy outside in our garden.”
