A Day in the Life of a Recruiter at the Jobs Fair

You have booked your stand some weeks in advance, now the day has arrived, the Jobs Fair starts at 10am. In this article, we are going to explore “a day in the life of a recruiter at the Jobs Fair”.

Here is our step-by-step guide:

1. Parking – depending on the location you are attending; there will either be onsite car parking at the venue, or you will have to park at the nearest local car park. All of which would have been detailed to you in the “setting up email” you received 1 week prior to the Job Fair (along with directions to the venue).

2. Arriving at the venue – Having first seen a plethora of our outside equipment (A-Boards and Flags), you will usually arrive in a reception area, which is standard for most venues we use. From that point, you can either ask venue staff for directions or simply follow our signage, which will lead you directly to the space we have hired. Look out for “Jobs Fair Today” Banners and various arrow signs with our logo displayed to help with this.

3. Entering the event space – you will be greeted by our friendly and helpful Event Organisers upon your arrival to the event area. They will ask for your company name and then direct you to your allocated stand space on the day. They will have “Jobs Fair” branded T-Shirts and be wearing staff lanyards.

4. The Stand itself – this will consist of a trestle table, 2-3 chairs, a tablecloth and a 2m x 1m space to display your pop-up banners (or curved wall stands!).

5. Your Stand Option – based on which stand option your organisation has opted for; this will dictate what our Event Organisers will ask from you and what stand space you will be using. For example, if you choose our “Plus” option (our most premium option) you will be given one of the very best stand positions, a “prime” position if you will.

6. Help – our staff will be on hand throughout to offer you assistance should you need it. Whether that is help with displaying pop-up banners, putting out literature, putting on your branded tablecloth or displaying vacancies on our Job Boards. We’re there for you, no request is ever too much.

7. Event start – the Job Event will officially open to job seekers at 10am. So, get yourself primed and ready at your stand area by 09:55am, in anticipation for the hundreds of visitors about to visit!

8. During the event – if you have any requirements whilst the event is in full swing (need photocopies of jobs etc), go and find our Event Organisers. They will be in the room taking pictures/videos for social media or meeting and greeting job seekers as they arrive at the entrance to the room.

9. Event end – most of our Recruitment Fairs will conclude at either 1pm or 2pm depending on location. Be aware that some job seekers will still be in the room after this time, but usually disperse within 10-15 minutes. As was the same at the start of the Fair, if you need any help collapsing your stand equipment, our Event Organisers will be on hand and happy to assist.

10. Goodbyes – you will be given one final goodbye by the team as you make your way out of the exhibition space. We hope to see you at one of our future Jobs Fairs!
