What it’s like to work for us?

The PGDE programme is 36 weeks in duration. Students spend 18 weeks on campus and 18 weeks on school placement. There is also the opportunity to to undertake 80 masters credits.

Once you complete, if eligible, you are guaranteed a post in a Scottish School for one year. Designed to allow new teachers to complete their probationary year and gain full registration with the GTC(Scotland).

As a newly qualified teacher, you can receive an additional payment (approx. £8,000) under the Preference Waiver Scheme if you agree to work anywhere in Scotland for your induction scheme.
