The Birtenshaw Group developed from what was Birtenshaw School which was established in Bromley Cross, Bolton in 1956. The Birtenshaw Group provides a creative and dynamic range of Care and Education services for children and young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).
We transform the lives of children and young adults with significant physical impairment, complex health needs, learning disability and / or Autistic Spectrum Conditions through award winning and highly acclaimed services.
The Birtenshaw Group operates a Special School and Specialist College in Bolton and a Special School in Liverpool.
We also run several children’s homes, one of which is a short break centre, a domiciliary care agency, various supported tenancies, an enrichment service, a community café, a small animal small holding, a horticultural project plus a sports and activity centre.

The type of jobs we recruit for?
Birtenshaw Group have a number of vacancies within both our Care and Education Services. There are both part and full time Support Worker positions and full time Learning Support Assistant roles within both our school and college.
All roles are based in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
