About Us

Go North West joined was created on 2 June 2019, when The Go-Ahead Group took over operations at the historic Queens Road bus depot in the heart of Manchester.

Since then, we've worked hard to embed ourselves firmly within the communities we serve. We run an extensive network of routes across Greater Manchester and Salford, including the 135, one of Manchester's busiest bus routes.

Go North West is part of the Go-Ahead Group plc, one of five major groups involved in running buses in the UK. The Go-Ahead philosophy is for each subsidiary company to run as an autonomous business, in tune with the local market. In Manchester, this will enable us to focus on the needs of commuters and leisure travellers alike and provide a service that really focuses on improving customer experience.

Whether you've already got a licence to drive a bus or you're a complete newbie to the profession, we want to hear from you. If you already hold a bus driver's licence, great! After your interview and medical, we'll fast-track you through our Driver Academy and you'll be on the road with us in no time.

And if you can't drive a bus already, don't worry - we'll put take you through each of the steps to get your licence when you join our Driver Academy.

As a new driver, you'll earn a rate of £10.20 per hour in your first year and an industry-leading £12,77 per hour after your second year with us. If you are already qualified, you'll start straight away on £12.77 per hour, rising to £14.48 for work on Sundays.
