About Us

Leicester City Council’s Sports Services are the leading provider of sport and fitness facilities within the city, helping deliver the council’s long-term vision to reduce high levels of inactivity and increase participation across the City. Our brand is called ‘Active Leicester, ’ and encompasses seven leisure centres, all with gyms and pools, an athletics track, a climbing wall, a golf pitch and several football pitches.

As a department we follow 5 values:

1. Put the customer at the heart of everything we do and listening to their needs

2. Create a great place to work, where people are inspired to be the best they can be. Where success is celebrated, and we work as a team across all our sites and services.

3. Build an unbeatable network of partners and fostering mutual loyalty.

4. Achieve outcomes and stretch targets, whilst being mindful of our overall responsibilities to our customers.

5. Be a highly effective, flexible, responsive, ‘can do’ service that nurtures our customers, and respects and trusts each other.

This is an exciting time to be joining the team. After 3 years of delivering year on year improvements, we now have in place ambitious plans to ‘step up the service’ to take us to the next level. The city’s learn to swim programme is at the heart of these plans. We’d love to hear from highly motivated and passionate individuals, who have the ability to provide the highest standard of service, can work within a team, have great communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude to help deliver Active Leicester’s vision and values.
